Questions concerning special types of batteries and rechargeable batteries

In this section we will answerquestions concerning special types of batteries and rechargeable batteries.

Is there a difference between NiCd and NiMH battery packs?

NiMH rechargeable batteries are the only ones that do not contain any heavy metals and hence are more environmentally-friendly. A further advantage of NiMH battery packs in comparison with NiCd battery packs is that the former have a greater capacity (Ah) for the same physical size.

An ampere hour (Ah) is a unit of measure for the storage capacity of the battery and means the capacity that can be drawn from it; A=amperes times the unit of time h = hours.
This value is greater in the case of NiMH due to the chemistry of the cells. Both types of rechargeable battery can be charged with current chargers with the latest charging technology.
